Cubix Infinite Developer Guidelines

As a developer for the Cubix Infinite, we hold you to specific standards. Cubix grades games based on comformity to our standards of quality. In general, Cubix wants games to look presentable and astheically pleasing, but its up to the individual reviewer to determine if the game meets our standards. The purpose of this document is to allow you as a developer to have a resource to gauge your development and understand what you can and can't do with your game on Infinite.

Project Brief Requirements

  • How should your game be played
  • How does someone beat your game

Cubix Code Review Policy

Cubix performs a general code review to assert that any project files are not malicious. We do not debug code but we may return bug reports after a review. Assert the safety and performance of your game before submitting your game to maximize your score.

Content

When we ask “What Is In Your Game”, it refers to the content of the game. Cubix describes content to be the actual gameplay mechanics in the game as well as any elements of the game that might impact it's Maturity Rating. We require that you describe what mechanics are in your game for categorization purposes. Content disclosures are for the safety of our staff and help us fairly rate your game.

Maturity Limits

Cubix does not allow specific content with the purpose of creating a safe environment for people of all ages. Below are a few general things that aren't allowed on Cubix systems. If you're unsure whether something is compliant, you can always reach out to Cubix staff in our discord server or email us at at [email protected]

Child Safety

As a gaming console manufacturer, child safety is our top priority. We want to make sure that Cubix systems are a safe place for children to enjoy. Games intended for audiences that include children are given extremely strict restrictions, especially regarding their information and their treatment. Games rated towards children, which is defined as anyone under the age of 13, are not permitted feature the following content:

  • Sexually Explicit Content
  • Violence & Gore
  • Profanity
  • Gambling

Additional restrictions may be applied depending on what the game contains and its purpose. Games targeted at users under 13 are also required to have 2-Step Purchase Authentication enabled[1].

Sexually Explicit Content

Cubix does not allow games featuring sexually explicit content on Cubix Systems. Cubix defines sexually explicit as any of the following content:

  • Content that depicts or explicitly describes sexual acts
  • Nudity

Sexually suggestive content, such as flirting between characters, innuendos and sexually suggestive clothing and/or designs are permitted in games depending on their context. Cubix Review Staff will alert you if any content in your game falls under the suggestive category. For further questions regarding this, please reach out to [email protected]

Violence & Gore

Cubix is relatively lenient on gore however, the ESRB or equivalent in your region may have different regulations regarding this content. In general, however, Cubix doesn't allow the following content:

  • Animal Abuse and/or torture
  • Real world depictions of extreme gore, extreme violence or death including self-harm
  • References to mass violence, especially sensitive historical events
  • Human or civil rights violations

In general, gore is allowed in some games, depending on their intended audience. Additional restrictions may be applied to games with specific audiences.

Gambling

Cubix does not allow gambling in games. Gambling is a tricky subject to handle but we describe it as any of the following:

  • Charging real-world currency for a chance to win a virtual item
  • Charging real-world currency for a chance to an item with the purpose of reselling
  • Charging real-world currency to play a game for a chance to win it back, double it or get some sort of return based on chance.

Games based around the stock market are allowed, however they are not allowed to directly use real world currency. (A game can allow users to buy in game for real world currency but there must be a way to acquire that money for free.

Failure to comply to requirements for a project brief may result in your game being removed. Attempts to submit malicious or potentially malicious project files will result in a blacklist from Cubix Services.

This document is constantly being updated as Cubix is still in its early days. Cubix will alert you when our developer guidelines have been updated.
